International Performance Coach Visits Again
International Performance Coach Chris Adams from Aylesbury Gymnastics Academy spent the weekend of the 7th and 8th November working with our gymnasts. This was his second visit of a planned training programme which has been put in place with the Club for the foreseeable future. Regent’s head coach Julia Falle said Chris has already seen a great improvement in the gymnasts since his last visit and is pleased to see the progress of the gymnasts since introducing the new training programme.
Over the weekend Chris worked with a number of squad members where he spent time focusing on tumbling including introducing the younger gymnasts to the first stages in developing their tumbling skills. A number of the gymnasts showed great tumbling potential with some of the youngsters performing back flips unaided for the first time and a number of older gymnasts performing high, dynamic, powerful somersaults. Chris also worked all of the gymnasts in 'gloves and loops' on a metal bar to work their shapes and techniques in handstands, giant circle swings, clear hip circles to handstands and stalders. Throughout the whole weekend the gymnasts were also put through their paces with new flexibility and strengthening exercisers.
The next training clinic is planned for the New Year. | |
